We're above ground!

Finally, we have recovered from the deep hole we dug.  This has been a busy week for the crew.  Floor joists, flooring, and the start of the steel assembly.  The second picture is of our roof, right now laying the the front yard.  Can't wait to see that get assembled.

Flying Friday Night

What a gorgeous night!  I went for a fly and drifted over Walnut Bank so here are a couple of shots.  The basement looks great, at least as great as a concrete hole can look.  If you look close, you can see our awsome neighbor Lauren standing on her back porch (house to the right of ours).

Moat be gone

Big progress today! The excavator "back-filled" the dirt around the new foundation. The dirt now goes all the way up to the walls, and the huge piles are gone so we can see what the yard will look like. My (Laura's) current project is rescuing stones from the dirt so I can make a dry stream bed running from the house to the river to direct run-off and prevent erosion. It's something to do...

Radiant Heat

Here is the pex tubing for the radiant heat going in.  (It's shown half done in this picture).  Laura and I put it in Thursday in about 3 hours.  It's the biggest task that 'we' are doing prior to taking over after the shell is complete.  It went well.  Next the floor will get poured, then backfill early next week.  Then the real fun begins.

Getting going

Well, the 4th has come and gone.  Walnut Bank is getting a little steam up, but still a long way to go.

At the moment, we have concrete walls for the basement, exterior insulation, floor drains, and... that's about it.  Tomorrow we will have insulation down for the basement floor and then Laura and I will staple down the Pex tubing for the in floor heating for the basment.  (Hope that goes OK).  Lots of stuff on order, the ball is starting to roll.
